According to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the election of MEPs and the national referendum on the uninominal vote system were officially over yesterday in the polling stations in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne at 12: 00 p.m. and in Brisbane at 1:00 p.m.

Both processes were also over in Wellington, New Zealand, at 10: 00 a.m. The Romanians in New Zealand were the first to vote in the polling station established in Wellington.

The last polling stations were to close today at 7:00 a.m. in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The largest number of Romanians who voted in the Euro-election while abroad were those in Hungary (223) and Italy (205). The smallest number of voting Romanians was noticed in Georgia (7) and Ukraine (9), according to the Electoral Office for the Parliament of Europe.

According to incomplete data from abroad on Romanians' attendance of the Euro-elections, things look as follows: 32 electors in Bulgaria, 82 electors in China, 10 electors in Malta, 7 electors in Georgia, 223 electors in Hungary, 149 in Korea, 24 electors in Kuwait, 9 electors in Hungary, 30 electors in Japan, 31 electors in Ireland, 21 electors in Sweden, 20 electors in Denmark AND 45 In France.

The moment the news reached us there had been few Romanians to go voting in Spain, at least in Sevilla, Barcelona and Madrid, according to Romanian officials there.
