The presidential bluff
--
What a fishy and villainous coincidence! 90 days ago two Romanian citizens suspected of intelligence were arrested in Iraq by the US military police and now they have been set free. Right before their release, the Evenimentul Zilei daily, the most powerful media instrument serving Cotroceni Palace, produced the sensational news on the Romanians lost in Iraq. As for the "president player", he said he had and hadn't known about it, he had and hadn't taken action...   (32 afisari)      2 comentarii

Foreign minister's resignation confirms ZIUA scenario
Yesterday the Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu demanded foreign minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu to resign because of not having informed the government and the prime minister about the two Romanian workers arrested in Iraq. Minister Ungureanu agreed to do it and admitted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been wrong.
Ungureanu was one of the officials ZIUA pointed to, arguing that he was one of the main officials involved in the...   (28 afisari)

Politicians comment on foreign minister's resignation
Theodor Stolojan, the Liberal-Democrat Party: "I think Razvan Ungureanu has been hasty. Foreign affairs isn't the attribution of the PM only. He should have talked to the President before resigning. Tariceanu is once again proving unable to keep the worthy ministers. It is him who drove the worthy ones away."
Lucian Bolcas, the "Greater Romania" Party: "The resignation seems normal to me. In this series of killing carelessness and...   (33 afisari)

Aspirants to foreign affairs portfolio
Liberal leaders Teodor Melescanu, Adrian Cioroianu and Cristian David may be Razvan Ungureanu's successors to take over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Liberal sources claimed yesterday.
Sources say odds are for Cristian David actually. If the Romanian government gets restructured, the post of Cristian David, now a delegate minister for the implementation of international financedprogrammes, is likely to go extinct. (L.I.)   (20 afisari)

President suggested Tariceanu should dismiss Ungureanu
Tariceanu "lies so much" that he must be ignored when claiming "I don't know, I have received nothing". This is what the President of Romania Traian Basescu said yesterday. He claimed that, if the PM hadn't been informed by the MAE (Ministry of foreign Affairs), he should revoke the foreign minister. The President had said it when recording the talk show for Pro TV yesterday, before the Romanian PM had demanded foreign minister...   (24 afisari)

Authorities don't give a penny on exceptional Romanians
The Romanian government has decided on the pay raise for the employees of state-owned institutions. The new regulation is to be used starting with February 1. The difference between the wages of those elected or appointed on political criteria and the great artists or professionals in Romania is huge.
