The odyseey of the first car matriculation fee in Romania is approaching the end. According to the EU Multilingualism Commissioner Ludovic Orban, the Romanian government's latest version of the car fee is standing real chance to get consent from the European Commission. The official explained in a TV show: "Had the government failed to produce a new version, Romania would have risked facing the European Court of Justice." Still he warned it could not be a both fiscal and ecological fee. (...)
It is to be reminded that Romania's finance minister Varujan Vosganian announced last week that there would anyway follow a 40% cut on the fee. (A.E.)
