The Parliament of Europe announced yesterday the dismemberment of the European ultranationalist group "Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty", because of the withdrawal of the Euro-deputies from the PRM ("Greater Romania" Party). After the announcement there followed an incident between an Austrian independent Euro-deputy and Jean-Marie Le Pen, a president of the French National Front, with the former accusing the latter of making an obscene sign against him.
All the 5 PRM Euro-deputies, as well as Mircea Cosea, resigned one by one from the group established just ten months ago, choosing to leave this far right group headed by Bruno Gollnisch, a representative of the French National Front.
British Edward McMillan-Scott, chair of the session, announced that the "Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty" was no longer meeting requirements and could no longer continue as a group. Most Euro-deputies cheered when hearing it, when the above-mentioned incident occurred.
PRM sources claim the party president Corneliu Vadim Tudor got a phone call from Jean Marie Le Pen, the latter reproaching the Romanian politician for not having announced the group beforehand. (R.G.)
