PM gets to Japan, President reaches Egypt
The Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu set our for Tokyo yesterday afternoon for a 3-day official visit. He is to deliver a political message on the strategic importance of the partnership with Japan. The reception by Emperor Akihito will be one major event, opening a set of premiers: the first visit a Romanian PM is paying to Japan in more than 100 years of bilateral relations and the first high level contact between Romania and an Asian power of strategic importance after Romania's accession to the EU.
The President of Romania Traian Basescu it to start today his 2-day official visit to Egypt, where he was invited by President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, Presidency Administration informs. (A.H.)
