After his visit to the US, where he had talked to CIA and FBI officials, the SRI (Romanian Intelligence Service) chief George Maior reached Jerusalem, where he had been invited by Mossad Commander Meir Dagan and Shabak head Yuval Diskin.
Although arranged to take place in Jerusalem, his meeting with Dagan took place in Tel Aviv, as Jerusalem was troubled with Palestinian problems caused by Israeli authorities' archeological digging close the El Agsa Holy Mosque. (...)
The Israeli media hasn't reported on the SRI chief's presence in Israel together with his executive Florin Coldea, but the Romanian Mediafax Agency has kept it no secret.
There are numerous domestic and foreign security matters on the agenda of the secret services in both Israel and Romania, related to the Romanian troops participating in Iraq and Afghanistan, to the large number of Romanians who now live in Israel, to the Palestinian territories and Arab states, to the many illegal deeds and also to Romanian religious sites in the Holy Land.
