Frantisek Priplata, sentenced to 8 years of prison for killing union leader Virgil Sahleanu, is in the Czech Republic at present. At the end of last week he left Romania, although he was forbidden to. Priplata is not the first criminal to be caught who has managed to cross the border. There was also Gregorian Bivolaru who did it before him. Bivolaru is now in Sweden and Romanian authorities are taking efforts to bring him to the country.
General Customs Police has announced investigation so that authorities will find out how Priplata managed to leave Romania. Policemen have not discovered it so far, but they believe two means are likely: either due to fake papers or due to the green border. (B.G.)
