Democrats warn Tariceanu
PD snarls
PD (the Democrat Party) "warns" Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu that the Democrat Party is not "a property of the prime minister" and decisions reached in the leading structures of PNL (the National Liberal Party)-PD Alliance and of the Coalition have to be obeyed. This is what PD president stated yesterday after the Coordination Council meeting. He said during the debate lasting almost 5 hours the members of the Coordination Council expressed dissatisfaction with the way the PM had approached early elections and especially with the MP's announcement on revoking his resignation. Boc mentioned PD leaders proceeded to "warning" for Calin Popescu Tariceanu: "PD is not a property of the prime minister's institution and decisions reached by the Alliance's leading structures have to be obeyed."
Reproaches
The Democrat added that the warning would be sent to the PM in the meeting of the National Coordination Council of the Alliance due yesterday afternoon. Boc also added: ""Decisions must not be annihilated by one single person." When asked about means to start early elections this year, Boc answered it could be done either by the PM's resignation or by MPs voting for sacking motion. He said that for the time being none of these means was available. General secretary Vasile Blaga also supported reproaches expressed by Boc.
Replacing Nastase and Vacaroiu
Boc outlined one more time the need to replace the two Parliament Chambers' presidents. The Democrats' leader opined: "We must rule both at Victoria Palace and the Parliament Palace." As far as this is concerned, Boc warned Dan Voiculescu's Conservatives once again, as they were still avoiding clear attitude towards the replacing of the two above-mentioned presidents. Boc criticized the oscillations of the ex Humanists: "the Conservative Party has got a problem we must make clear. In democracy, a party cannot be both at rule and in the opposition."
Minister replacing is no priority
As for minister replacing, Boc mentioned this was no priority for the Coalition. He said all conclusions to be reached after the reports presented by PD ministers would be handed in to the National Permanent Bureau of PD and be used for making more decisions. But Boc admitted that ministers' debates had sometimes been "stormy" and very critical. He confessed that Integration Minister Ene Dinga had been one of the criticized and vice PM Gheorghe Seculici had been next. Boc said: "Gheorghe Seculici is no. 2 in the Romanian Government and he should behave as such." He mentioned that Environment Minister Sulfina Barbu had not got "aggressive" questions from PD members. On the other hand, the Democrat leader said that during the meeting they decided on some priorities for PD ministers.
