The two judges from Bucharest Court who sentenced Mugur Ciuvica in 2005 for having claimed Traian Basescu had been an agent of the ex Securitate can now be blackmailed because of their own records. Just one month after having "fixed" Ciuvica, authorities stopped investigating judge Elena Burlan on intellectual fake and abuse at work. As for the second one, Iosefina Parvu, who had been sanctioned for discipline breaks and who had some criminal records as well, because of her involvement in scandalous decisions to set convicts free, she had been employed by the ICE NAVLOMAR, an enterprise controlled by the ex Securitate, before 1989.

In keeping with the laws at work during Ceausescu's reign, all the employees of foreign trade enterprises were forced into signing commitments with the ex Securitate. Simona Carnaru, the third judge in the court, opposed the idea of sentencing Ciuvica, therefore the condemnation was the work accomplished by the two other judges mentioned above. (...) (R.S.)
