Violence is everywhere in Romania: in the street, at school and at home. To many Romanians violence is a means of education, since about 1, 6 million were victims of various forms of domestic violence in the last 12 months. The number is 4,1% greater than in 2003, according to research by CURS.

Electors without cards
Politicians have been refusing to use the elector's card, the most efficient means to do away with electoral fraud, for 15 years now. Although settled in the Government Decision 729, released in November 10, 1992, not even in the 2008 elections has this document become the only paper a Romanian needs in order to vote.
