Romanian diplomacy's tremendous failure

Romanian President is satisfied with Lisbon Treaty
The President of Romania Traian Basescu mentioned yesterday morning that all the attendants of the Lisbon summit reached consensus on the EU Treaty and the latter document settled 5 exclusive attributions for the EU over the member states.

Bucharest to house talks on Romanians in Italy
State secretary Famiano Crucianelli, Italy's vice minister for foreign affairs, is going to pay a visit to Bucharest in October 22-23 and talk to Bucharest authorities about the Romanian community in Italy.

The EU Multilingualism Commissioner Leonard Orban demanded the European Commission for speed in the application of the procedures on the ongoing search for possible state financial support for the privatization of Automobile Craiova, the car factory in Romania, no matter the outcome of investigations.

Helicopter crashes and two die in willow forest
A helicopter with two persons aboard crashed yesterday morning in between Giurgeni and Bertesti, two localities in Romania, close to the Danube. Both passengers died. The craft crashed in a willow forest and there were local fishermen who witnessed it, despite the thick fog. Right after collapsing the helicopter caught fire. PLD bill against government is ready
Yesterday when the PLD (Liberal-Democrat Party) introduced the candidates to run in the election of MEPs in Romania, Valeriu Stoica announced the party's bill against the Cabinet in power was ready and it was to reach the partners from the PD (Democrat Party). PM says government may take responsibility for uninominal vote law
The Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu warned yesterday that he would be watching the Parliament's debates on the uninominal vote draft. If they are slow, he pointed, the government may take responsibility for the law as soon as possible. He put it straight: "I can tell you that, if I see the Parliament is slow next week, the government may take responsibility and promote the law."
