On the other side of the press
I too received a note signed by Traian Basescu and Calin Popescu Tariceanu. It was in November 2004, in the period between the two presidential election tours. There were a few words written on a piece of paper. The two leaders of D.A. IFJ recommends President shouldn't quarrel with journalists
-- Yesterday the IFJ (International Federation of Journalists) criticized the Romanian President's offensive against the owners of some press companies, described by Traian Basescu as 'media moguls'.
Aidan White, a general secretary of the IFJ, recommended that the President of Romania should mind his responsibility to promote stability in the government rather than start criticizing TV channels and dailies unfriendly to him.

PM asks for postponements

Cozma is still imprisoned
Miron Cozma, formerly a leader of the coal miners in Valea Jiului, has got some more months to spend in prison. Magistrates agreed yesterday to prosecutors' appeal against the decision that he should be paroled.
