I too received a note signed by Traian Basescu and Calin Popescu Tariceanu. It was in November 2004, in the period between the two presidential election tours. IFJ recommends President shouldn't quarrel with journalists
-- Yesterday the IFJ (International Federation of Journalists) criticized the Romanian President's offensive against the owners of some press companies, described by Traian Basescu as 'media moguls'.

Miron Cozma, formerly a leader of the coal miners in Valea Jiului, has got some more months to spend in prison. Magistrates agreed yesterday to prosecutors' appeal against the decision that he should be paroled.
