The forgotten side of the war on terrorism
During the past decade - particularly since the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States - Westerners have generally considered international terrorism to be the most urgent threat to human security. Accordingly, vast resources have been mobilized and expended to counter its many forms.

Repentance
Two days ago, Dan Voiculescu, president of the Conservative Party in Romania, accused Sorin Rosca Stanescu, Liviu Luca and Sorin Ovidiu Vantu of having threatened Copos. Right after Voiculescu had said it, ZIUA reporters called vice PM Copos for a statement. He couldn't be reached. Still yesterday at 9: 56 a.m. we got a phone call from a private number from George Copos himself. Here is the conversation between the latter and ZIUA reporter George Tarata. (D.E.I.)

Frunda: " I don't represent Romania!"

President Basescu returned from Ukraine pessimistic
In his interview to the Ukrainian TV channel on Thursday evening, Romanian president Traian Basescu said he was rather pessimistic about the power of negotiations to settle the dispute on the delimitation of the Black Sea continental plateau, says Rompres. Basescu and Stan face to face
Romanian president Traian Basescu denies Valerian Stan's accusations on his preferential credit from Banca Agricola. He says it was his brother who took the loan and returned it in due time. Yesterday after returning from Ukraine the president mentioned he had taken no credit from Banca Agricola. He asked Victor Ciorbea, Mircea Ciumara and Mugur Isarescu to take responsibility for having broken the law by not publishing the annexes to some ordinances.
