Romanians trust firemen and the military forces most. According to a survey accomplished by the GfK Custom Research in March-April 2008, firemen come first at European level too. Politicians and lawyers come last in terms of the trust they get.
According to the GfK research, firemen are trusted by 94% of citizens, the military comes second (90%), then there follow the post office services (89%) and the teachers (85%).
Doctors enjoy a rate of 75%, followed by advertising employees (58%) and the police (53%). Doctors are best trusted in Turkey (93%) and the Czech Republic (92%), whereas their credibility is scarce in Greece and Russia.
The politicians in Poland enjoy the best trust rate (27%), whereas the Italian ones are most distrusted (6%). The research shows that the Europeans living in the West of the continent trust their countries' politicians very little: 13%. (R.G.)
