The President of Romania Traian Basescu said last Tuesday that he found it hard to understand the attitude of the Communist Party in Chishinau, but he added that the aggressiveness of the Moldovan President, PM and foreign minister wouldn't change Romania's approach to the Moldovan Republic.
The Romanian President claimed he would continue to be a true adept of the idea to improve relations with the Romanian nation from everywhere, adding that in the Moldovan Republic there lived some 4,5 million Romanians.
President Basescu commented: "I want to think that in the weeks to come the Romanian government will do what is to be done so that those Moldovans who graduate high school and university in Romania would be granted Romanian citizenship. (...) (R.G.)
