PM says government may take responsibility for uninominal vote law
The Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu warned yesterday that he would be watching the Parliament's debates on the uninominal vote draft. If they are slow, he pointed, the government may take responsibility for the law as soon as possible. He put it straight: "I can tell you that, if I see the Parliament is slow next week, the government may take responsibility and promote the law."
As for the budget talks with the party heads, the PM said the meeting wasn't scheduled yet, but it was sure to take place next week. (R.G.)
