The Romanian government decided yesterday that the election of MEPs would take place in November 25. Romania is to be represented in the Parliament of Europe by 35 officials. PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu promised the government would see that the election progress under normal circumstances and fraud would be countered.
A team made up of representatives of political parties and government is working on a set of measures meant to do away with scrutiny fraud, 'electoral tourism' in particular.
The Romanian PM pleaded yesterday for a future debate on European matters that should be held during the campaign preceding the election of MEPs. (...) (O.B.)
