The Romanian minister for European integration Anca Boagiu is to meet the representatives of the General Enlargement Department of the European Commission today in Brussels. It is the last meeting of Romanian and EU officials before the release of the monitoring report due in September 26, supposed to set a date for Romania's accession to the EU.
Boagiu said that during the today's meeting they would analyze the report Romania elaborated for the European Commission, focussing on the progress with view to accession. The minister also mentioned they would also look into the peer-view reports on Romania, written by the delegations who visited our country since May.
In the press conference she held yesterday minister Boagiu explained the stage of the implementation of that legislation Romania needed in order to get EU membership. Romania is to settle matters concerning elections for the Parliament of Europe and give the citizens of EU states means to be elected in Romania. (...) (G.D.)
