Mihail Lupu heads the PNL (National Liberal Party) organization in Navodari. Because of political reasons he got to rule the OIL TERMINAL Constanta and he has done his best to lead this state company to bankruptcy. Once he accomplishes mission, the strategic interest company may be sold for nothing. The funds at stake are huge, since the OIL TERMINAL is the biggest "Via Mare" operator in Romania and one of the most important ones in South-Eastern Europe. Oil transit from the Caspian area to Western Europe is also at stake. But the interests of the PNL are the same with those of the PC (Conservative Party).
Codrut Seres, the Conservative minister of economy, is planning Stock Exchange sale of 40% OIL TERMINAL shares, so that the state would own only 19,62%. The Liberal-Conservative strategy is aimed at weakening the company so that it would become cheaper. This is also the target of Liberal Mihai Lupu, the new general manager of OIL TERMINAL. Because of his managerial policy the company's profit lost 42 billion ROL in one year. But Seres's Ministry made up for it by "imposing" a yearly profit lower that what Lupu got, so that the Liberal would become an example of skillfulness.
The PETROL Free Union has already informed the right institutions about the prupose of leading the company to bankruptcy. The damage caused in the last year and the next five months is estimated to about 2 million Euro. Lupu's methods are much used in state institutions: overestimation of public acquisitions and projects, contracts signed wit no action, fraud muffling and so on. (...)
