The US Ambassador to Bucharest Nicholas Taubman said in yesterday's celebration of the Independence Day that Romania was America's trustable partners not only in Afghanistan and Iraq, but also throughout the whole world. He commented last event's events could not make him change his mind about Romania's seriousness as a reliable, friend, partner and ally.
The US official described Romania as an important country that knew how to take common commitments and carry out international assignments. Taubman evoked Romania's support for the US policy expressed in 2005, when it had provided temporary shelter to 400 Uzbek refugees, who would never forget Romania's generosity and hospitality. (D.E.)
