Mircea Dinescu read out a lampoon on Romanian president Traian Basescu during Liberals' meeting. It opened real political quarrels in the PNL (National Liberal Party) - PD (Democrat Party) Alliance. The piece was on the condemnation of communism, an issue the Liberals had been tackling in order to get credit.
Emil Boc's Democrats were intrigued by the contents as well as by the Liberals' response. The latter and PM Tariceanu first of all had great fun when hearing such artistic critique of Basescu. But lampooner Mircea Dinescu himself was really puzzled at the effects. Basescu's friends, one "bearing the name of a flower and heaving dyed hair" (Liberal Crin Antonescu) and the other "in the habit of dancing on restaurant tables" (Ludovic Orban), didn't miss the opportunity to tell the president of Romanian that once he condemned communism officially he would become the president of Romanians never again. Orban admitted he no longer trusted his colleagues in the PD and advised the Liberals to expect the latter to do the worst: overthrow the government and split both the Coalition and the Alliance.
As if it were electoral campaign, all Liberal leaders keep on criticizing president Basescu and the Democrats. It is only Mona Musca, who used to be the top voice of the Liberals, that has now criticized her mates for mocking Basescu.
