Ex president of Romanian Emil Constantinescu has told Rompres that he will sue the members of the CNSAS (National Council for Research on the Communist Secret Service Archive), as well as the secret service heads. He claims he has received no reply within the legal term to a solicitation he wrote in December 13, 2005, demanding to be granted access to certain documents that can prove Traian Basescu's collaboration with the ex Securitate (Communist Secret Service).
Constantinescu explains: "The CNSAS is guilty as far as my request is concerned. They broke the law on their own institution." He will sue the CNSAS unless he gets reply in 1 month' time. He adds: "I will demand that all officers, Timofte included, should be sued for keeping documents secret. We can't possibly think we are integrating in the EU as long as state institutions disrespect the laws on their own activities." (...)
