After getting several signs from US authorities, we can now see a US politician soliciting Romanian authorities consent for the adoption of two girl twins so that they can be together with their sister. Robert Wexler is member of Commission for International Affairs in the House of Representatives as well as a Democrat member of the Subcommittee on Europe and Emerging Threats. He is now in Romania for a few days. He is to meet the Romanian PM and president, as well as deputies' president. Although in the US there are 600,000 abandoned children, 120,000 of them offered for adoption, US officials go on with pressure so that Romania would reopen international child adoption.
At the end of last year, a US court sentenced pedophile Peckenpaugh to prison for having abused a child adopted from Romania. It is a case showing that such measures aren't always the best for the child's future.
